Abbott & Co. (Newark) Ltd

When Mr Abbott set up boiler making in Newark in 1870, he did so because of its excellent Central location to the Ports and Shipyards,  the Great North Road, and we had our own sidings onto the LNER Railway Network.

More than 140 years later we are thriving in Newark -  we capitalise on the central location with the A1 and the A46 dual carriageways, and can get to London in 75 minutes by rail.

Today, we manufacture pressure vessels over four metres wide and 12 metres long by road, weighing over 25 tonnes. We ship them internationally from our Newark factory.

Established in 1994 the business relocated into Newark and Sherwood in 2003. 

JDA chose to move to new purpose built offices on Sherwood Energy Village in the western area of the district.
